FOUNTAIN INSTALLATION
There are three basic elements needed to set up a freestanding water feature: a reservoir to contain the water and on which the feature stands, a pump, and a length of hose. The pump sits in the water inside the reservoir, with a hose attached which carries the water up inside the fountain. The reservoir is usually buried so the top is just level with the ground, or it can stand above ground and be disguised with a surround of some kind.
The installation kit includes:
- A heavy duty plastic reservoir, designed to take the weight of our stone water features. With a 100cm diameter it is large enough to catch all water splash, and comes with a removeable section for easy access to the pump.
- A quality pump with 10m of cable
- A length of hose (which we preinstall in your water feature)
- A water treatment product for regular use to keep the water free of algae
The pump can be connected to an outside socket, which must be professionally installed and have a circuit breaker. If connecting the pump to an indoor power point, a plug-in RCD adaptor must be used (available from DIY stores at about £10)
