Courtyard Garden
IOTA’s Marmoris planters
are used to green this Arts and Crafts-inspired courtyard garden within an historic home.
Designed by ASG Butler
the property is a landmark residence dating from 1938, and is considered the last of the traditional grand manor houses to be built in England. It is a faithful copy of the Lutyens style, and is built of dark buff brick, red tile roofs, and ashlar stone for architectural detailing.
The courtyard garden
is hard landscaped throughout, and has been furnished with Arts and Crafts-inspired furniture, appropriate for the period. IOTA’s
Marmoris planters >> were chosen to green the space, with a lush and architectural planting scheme using grasses, cycads and cordylines. The Marmoris stone has shades of cream and sand, threaded through with delicate grey veins, and the planters serve to visually integrate the colours of the building, patio slabs and decorative aggregate. To add focal points of interest, the planters are clustered in groupings of like shape, unified by a common planting scheme.
