The Standard, London WC1

IOTA’s Boulevard planters were selected for The Rooftop Bar at The Standard, London, in the heart of King’s Cross, London WC1.

Boulevard planters are a range of high-performance composite planters made from a proprietary form of Fibre Reinforced Cement [FRC]; and the planters are most commonly specified with a robust paint finish, in either the standard Anthracite grey colour, or in another custom RAL colour. However, Boulevard planters are also available unpainted, in the raw, light grey FRC finish; and this finish works perfectly with the 1970’s Brutalist concrete architecture of The Standard, London building. Unlike painted Boulevard planters [where the paint finish seals the FRC], planters in the raw FRC finish are porous; and they will weather and age over time, maintaining and developing the ‘concrete aesthetic’.
