Daventry – Mulberry Place Cinema Complex

Information

IOTA was commissioned to supply large bespoke Corten Steel and timber planter / benches, for the transformative Mulberry Place leisure project in Daventry.

All items were fabricated from 3.0mm Corten Steel, pre-weathered before shipment, and the timber specified was FSC Iroko. The Scope of Works covered:

  • A single L 14m bench in a ‘hockey shape’ arrangement, including 5 linear metres [LM] of backrests, located in the cinema piazza.
  • Also located in the cinema piazza, two additional planter / benches, of different arrangements, the largest with a total perimeter of 39 LM, including  22 LM of benching and 8 LM of backrests.
  • Finally, a further planter / bench located in the adjoining North Street, to create a visual signposting link between Mulberry Place and the High Street.

The Mullberry Place Cinema Complex is a transformative leisure project; which has seen the former library buildings off North Street demolished to make way for a four screen cinema complex that has restaurants, a public square and splash fountains.
