IOTA’s planters feature in an interior landscaping scheme at The Exchange shopping mall in Ilford, IG1.

A total of 49nr. planters were supplied, from two of IOTA’s stock design ranges.

From the Boulevard range of FRC [Fibre-Reinforced Cement] planters, the styles selected were SUMO [in two sizes], and the KYOTO 120 [the largest size in the series of 6nr. planters within the KYOTO design family].

From the Powder Coated Steel Planters range, the styles selected were the Steel High Rectangle 100 [H70 L100 D30cm], and the Steel Cube 800 [H80 W/D80cm] – all planters in RAL 9016 Traffic White.

Whilst IOTA is best known as a bespoke manufacturer on large external works projects, The Exchange illustrates how IOTA’s stock design ranges can offer a cheaper, off-the-shelf alternative, across a range of different materials. As also shown here, these stock design ranges work equally well in interior landscaping schemes, as they do when used, more commonly, outdoors.

The interior landscaping scheme was designed by Enaflo Interiors, and the artificial planting was supplied by Bright Green.

In recent years, The Exchange shopping mall has benefited from a programme of improvements following its acquisition by Capital & Regional plc in 2017; and from the upgrade to Ilford Station, which is now a stop on the Crossrail / Elizabeth Line. IOTA’s planters are located in a new food court at The Exchange, to be launched in Spring 2024.
