Lots Road Power Station, Chelsea, London SW10

IOTA was commissioned to design and manufacture bespoke architectural metalwork for the redevelopment of the Lots Road Power Station in Chelsea, London SW10.   

The Scope of Works included 52nr. separate ceiling feature elements, of varying size and design, in 3.0mm Aluminium, to be design-integrated with lighting, ventilation and fire extinguisher systems. The essential design concept appears deceptively simple, but this was in fact a challenging brief. Specifically, the metallic bronze colour was very unforgiving; and the features needed to be fully-welded, and they were large [up to L 1500 x H 1000mm]. Therefore, the features needed to be manufactured with great precision.
