IOTA was commissioned to supply bespoke steel planters and outdoor seating for Chiswick Park – the landmark, 33 acre office development park in West London designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.
All metalwork was fabricated from 2.0mm 1.4003-grade Stainless Steel. Type 1.4003 Stainless is a utility ‘ferritic’ stainless steel, which offers excellent corrosion resistance and longevity, and is a great deal less expensive than ‘austenitic’ stainless steels such as 304/316-grade. All metalwork was Polyester Powder Coated to RAL 7016 [Anthracite grey] in Interpon ‘Textura’ finish, which is hardwearing and forgiving in public realm. All timberwork was based on 70x50mm FSC IROKO timbers.
IOTA was commissioned by contractors Interkey on the basis of Design, Manufacture and Supply, working from a landscape scheme by architects Stiff and Trevillion.
Chiswick Park comprises 1.8 million sq ft of award-winning office accommodation, arranged as a necklace of 12 buildings. Each building faces the Park's 'inner garden' with a featured two-tier lake, waterfall, decked boardwalk, pathways, events space and landscaping. Tenants include some of the world’s leading companies – such as Discovery, Paramount Pictures, IMG, Starbucks, and Pernod Ricard.
