Information

A selection of bespoke powder coated steel planters were commissioned for a highways improvement scheme in Warrington, Cheshire.

The metal planters were commissioned to green a 1km long dual carriageway stretch of the A562 Warrington Road, a principal arterial highway through Warrington. The planters serve to both green the road; and to introduce a visual barrier between the carriageways, signposting the line of the central reservation.

92nr. planters were supplied, each L 2460 x W 1500 x H 500mm. The planters were manufactured from 1.5mm thick Zintec steel, powder coated to RAL 7012 [Basalt grey]. The planters included H 95mm runners, and steel eye bolts in the base to serve as anti-theft attachments points for the largest plants. The planters also incorporated a 100mm deep internal reservoir system, built as an integral part of the planter design.

Delivery in 4nr. artic lorries and offloading was conducted by IOTA. The planters were commissioned, installed and planted, and will be maintained, by the Streets & Parks Service of Warrington Borough Council.
