Bespoke Aluminium planters were commissioned as part of a strategy to green Motcomb Street, in the heart of Belgravia, London SW1X.
Motcomb Street has recently benefited from significant public realm improvements, including pedestrianisation, and IOTA’s planters formed part of these works. The bespoke aluminium planters were commissioned by Scotscape Landscaping, for the Grosvenor Estate; and were designed by IOTA in accordance with a Greening Strategy by landscape architects BDP.
A total of 45nr. planters were fabricated from 3.0mm Aluminium, with a Polyester Powder Coat [PPC] finish to RAL 7002 [Umbra grey]. The large planters were essentially to IOTA standard design; but they also included a plinth detail [to create a 50 x 50mm shadow gap], plus adjustable feet.
Motcomb Street forms part of the Grosvenor Estate in the City of Westminster's Belgravia district in London. The street is known for its luxury fashion shops, such as Christian Louboutin shoes, Stewart Parvin gowns, and the jeweller Carolina Bucci; and it was the location of the original Pantechnicon department store, due to be reopened in 2019.
