IOTA was commissioned to design, manufacture and supply a bespoke Lead-clad Steel planter for Cheval Old Town Chambers in Edinburgh.
The planter design was based on one previously developed for Rosewood London hotel, and features counter-relief moulding to accent, and add substance, to the planter rim. The planter of dims. L 6800 x W 400 x H 400mm was manufactured from 3.15mm thick Lead, clad onto a structural 304-grade Stainless Steel subframe; and the resulting double-skin construction delivers the unique aesthetic of lead, whilst relying on the superior strength and strength-to-weight ratio of steel for the planter's technical performance. The planter was also branded by IOTA with laser-cut letter signage, and the Cheval brand’s horse head logo.
