Ultra-high specification, movable planters were commissioned for Bloomberg’s European headquarters, located in the heart of the City of London.
The complex planter design included hinged doors; allowing access internally to both lockable and height-adjustable castors, and to a variety of combinations of electrical supply units.

A bespoke metal and timber roof garden concept was commissioned for the new BBC Wales headquarters building in Cardiff.
The roof garden is large and complex, with the central focus being continuous lengths of sinuous Iroko FSC timber benching with Stainless Steel armrests. Other works included Aluminium cladding to a ramped walkway for wheelchair access; and design integration to accommodate lighting and electrical distribution chambers within the garden structure.

IOTA designed and supplied a wide range of complex landscape solutions for The Glebe residential development in Chelsea, London SW3.
Works included: root-sealed and water-sealed planters for large bamboo; timber-clad steel planters; bronze-clad steel planters; bronze-capped, granite-clad steel water features; and sunken, encapsulated tree pits.
IOTA was responsible for the detailed manufacturing design for all sheet metal landscaping elements; but fabrication was split between IOTA and other sub-contractors – given the sheer scale and complexity of the scheme, combined with an exceptionally challenging project programme.

Large, bespoke Zinc planters were supplied to the UK headquarters of an international corporation at Verde SW1.
Given the scale of the planters [lengths between 3500mm and 5100mm], they were manufactured from 1.2mm Zinc clad onto 2.0mm Zintec Steel, to give sufficient strength and stiffness. The same technique is used by IOTA to create large planters from other softer metals, such as Lead, Copper, Brass and Bronze. IOTA also supplied Zinc cladding to a large water feature within the scheme.

IOTA was commissioned to supply bespoke planters and benching, for communal roof terraces at the TWENTY Berkeley Square office redevelopment.
The planter design/spec included a geometric 'picture frame' detail to the front faces [reflecting art deco details from within the building], and a premium specialist paint finish.
The bench timber seating was hinged and fitted with gas struts, to access storage areas below; and the benching was also design-integrated with LED under-lighting.

Bespoke Zinc planters, cladding and timber seating created the structure for communal terrace gardens at The Bindery office development Hatton Garden.
The total scheme was substantial, and required 4nr. artic loads to be crane lifted onto the roof by IOTA’s Installation Team.
The Zinc planters and cladding were supplied with a hand-applied, pre-patinated finish, with the intention that they would then age naturally within the maturing gardens.
We’ve built an information resource to help landscape trade professionals find out what is possible in sheet metal fabrication, when to specify it, and which metal to choose.
