University of Oxford – Student Accommodation, Oxford OX1IOTA was contracted to design, manufacture, supply and install 300 linear metres of bespoke tree planters – to include integrated security fencing, root ball and aerial guy anchor points, and thermal insulation to all internal faces.
The scale of the installation works was substantial, as the planters were supplied in 155nr. sections – each section having average dims. of L 1754 x W 1800 x H 1100mm, with an average weight per section of 247kg.
Installation programme: 4 months, delivery requiring 29nr. dedicated artics.

Lots Road Power Station, Chelsea, London SW10IOTA was contracted to design, manufacture, supply and install 22nr. interior planters for the focal-point landscaped feature in the public atrium of the former turbine hall. The installation, lasting 6 weeks, required specialist lift-and-shift equipment; and the planters were installed with butyl liners, sealed watertight, and integrated with lighting and drainage.
IOTA was also contracted to design, manufacture and supply [but not install] architectural metalwork for Lots Road: 150nr. ceiling feature elements, of varying size and design – the whole design-integrated with lighting, ventilation and fire extinguisher systems.

University of Oxford - Reuben College, Oxford OX1IOTA was contracted to design, manufacture, supply and install a bespoke stone-clad planter for the entrance courtyard of the newly-opened Reuben College at Oxford University.
The steel planter is 41 linear metres in length, and was manufactured and supplied in 21nr. sections, designed to the exact arrangement specified.
The installation scope required the planter to be fastened down to a pre-existing concrete foundation; and then for the planters to be clad with 356nr. individual sections of Yorkstone cladding and coping – supplied by others, but to IOTA’s manufacturing design. To create a perfect form, the 356nr. stone sections were individually designed by IOTA to be precisely machined to match the radius of the planter.

City of London Corporation, Cursitor Street, Cursitor Street, London EC4AOver many years, IOTA has been honoured to design, manufacture, supply and install public realm schemes for the City of London Corporation.
Much of this work has related to large-scale ‘planted perimeters’. These are planters that are open to the ground – often manufactured in Corten Steel, with the material supplied pre-weathered to-site for installation.
Installation works involve full design coordination with the hard landscaping contractor; on-site bedding, levelling and fixing; and on-site project management/site supervision.
